Why I Do This Work
Hi, my name is Teilor, and I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, and life’s deeper questions. I take an integrative approach that includes practical tools to help manage overwhelming emotions, while also drawing from existential therapy to explore the "why" beneath the surface. If you’ve been feeling anxious or down, it’s totally understandable to want some relief—but my approach is to take a deeper look at what those feelings might be trying to tell you. From an existential therapy lens, anxiety and depression can show up when we’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure about who we are or where we’re going. Together, we’ll create a space to explore those bigger questions—things like meaning, choice, and what really matters to you. It’s not about having all the answers right away, but about starting an honest conversation with yourself and learning how to navigate life with more clarity and intention.
I am a believer in whole health, meaning we will address mental, physical, emotional and spiritual issues in sessions. I believe in providing a space where your voice can be heard and acknowledged, and I provide a constant stream of motivation and support in your decision to choose yourself for once. My support also looks like challenging you to break habits that are no longer serving you. To help you define and find safety within yourself. My ultimate goal is to help you reconnect your mind and body, reconnect with your values, make intentional choices, and move toward a more authentic, fulfilling life.
My Background and Experience
I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 2021. My clinical experience spans a range of settings, including working in an inpatient mental health hospital, where I supported individuals navigating acute psychiatric crises. I’ve also had the opportunity to work closely with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, providing psychological assessments and therapeutic support for adolescents placed on probation. These diverse experiences have shaped my trauma-informed, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to care, and continue to inform how I show up for clients from all walks of life.
In addition to my graduate education, I’ve pursued specialized training in both Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and somatic-based approaches to healing. These individual courses focused on DBT skills and interventions, including emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—tools that are especially helpful for clients navigating intense emotions or relationship challenges. I’ve also engaged in foundational coursework in somatic therapy, deepening my understanding of the nervous system, body awareness, and trauma’s impact on the body. These approaches allow me to support clients not only in understanding their experiences but also in developing practical, body-based strategies for regulation and resilience.
Therapy Styles
Client- Centered & Embodied
I meet clients with deep presence, curiosity, and care. Our work isn’t just about insight—it’s about helping your whole system feel safe enough to shift.
Whole- Person Healing
I hold space for all parts of you— your mind, your emotions, you past, and your potential. I draw on multiples modalities tailoring each session to what the client needs that day.
Gentle, Non-Pathologizing Approach
I see symptoms as intelligent adaptations—not problems to ‘fix.’ I offer a space where you can explore what’s underneath with compassion, not judgment.” I bring the body into the therapeutic space— not just through talk, but by helping clients notice sensation, regulate their nervous system, and build awareness.
